I am from an organization that administers a scholarship and I would like to have it listed on Cappex. Who do I contact?
If your organization administers a scholarship, and you would like us to add it to our database, please don’t hesitate to let us know about it! We have unique matching capabilities that allow us to target your scholarship to the students who are most likely to qualify for it. Send an email to email@example.com with the details of the scholarship and a link to where we can find the information about it online. A member of our team will determine whether it is eligible to include in our database and will get in touch with you in a timely manner.

What scholarships does Cappex offer? How do I apply for them, and how do I submit my essay?
Please visit our Scholarships Page for details about the scholarships Cappex is currently offering. Applying is quick and easy! All you need to do is complete a Cappex profile if you don’t already have one. Your profile serves as your application, so make sure it is as complete as possible. Then, click on the Scholarships tab, select Cappex Scholarships, and click the orange Apply button next to the scholarship(s) you wish to apply for. In order to add or update an essay for a Cappex scholarship, visit the Profile section and add or edit your essay in the “More About Me” section.
How do I know if I won a scholarship that is offered by Cappex? Where can I see previous winners?
Cappex scholarship winners will be contacted usually within one month of the posted deadline date by FedEx or certified letter, and may also be contacted by phone or email. We will also post the winners on our Scholarships Page.
How do I apply for a scholarship that is listed on MeritAid?
The scholarships featured on MeritAid are administered by the colleges and universities they are listed under. Only students who are planning to attend or currently attending that college or university are eligible for them. For more information about these scholarships and how to apply, contact the financial aid department at the college or university by email, phone, or in person.
How do I know if I won a scholarship that is offered by an organization other than Cappex?
If an organization chooses you as a scholarship winner, they will almost always contact you. Depending on the amount of applications received, initial notification can vary from a few weeks after the deadline to a few months. You may be notified by phone, email, or mail. Organizations often announce scholarship winners on their website, so check back every so often to see if they were posted. Be patient! It can take scholarship committees a long time to thoroughly review all the applications. Oftentimes, organizations do not have enough time or resources to notify those who didn’t win a scholarship, so if an organization never contacts you, you can assume that you were not chosen as a winner.
How do I get more scholarship matches?
To get more scholarship matches in your “My Scholarship Matches” list, you can expand your search by visiting the Expand Scholarship Search page. To do so, log in to your Cappex account and click the Scholarships tab. Click the orange Get More Matches Now button at the bottom of the page. On this page, you can check any of the options that apply to you or your family members: organizations, employers, religions, ethnic heritages, disabilities, sports, or other qualifications. You can also indicate for which academic years you’d like to see scholarships for. These affiliations are updated weekly, so check back often.
What is a Scholarship Alert, and why do I get them?
When you create a profile on Cappex, we collect important information about you that allows us to match you with scholarships that you are more likely to qualify for. When one or more of those scholarships is approaching its deadline, we send you a Scholarship Alert so you won’t miss out on the chance to apply! We’ll also send you a Scholarship Alert whenever any new scholarships are activated that you might be interested in applying for.
How do I change my Scholarship Alert email preferences?
It’s simple! Log in to your Cappex account (or you can click on the link within the Scholarship Alert) and select the Profile link from the upper right hand corner. Then click on Change Account Settings. On the right hand side of the page, you will see a Communication Preferences section, which you can tailor to your desired alerts, communications, etc.
Can Cappex pay for college? Will Cappex fund a scholarship for me?
Unfortunately, we are unable to pay for college or fund individual scholarships for any students. We do, however, recommend that you take advantage of our website to look for scholarships to help you pay for school. You need only create a free account on Cappex and you will be matched with scholarships that you are likely to qualify for. To receive the most accurate matches, make sure your profile is as complete as possible. After completion, click the Scholarships tab on the top of the screen. Here you will find a list of scholarships in the “My Scholarship Matches” tab.
I’m an international student. Can you sponsor my college education?
Unfortunately, we are unable to pay for college or fund individual scholarships for any students. We do, however, recommend that you take advantage of our website to look for scholarships to help you pay for school. You need only create a free account on Cappex and you will be matched with scholarships that you are likely to qualify for. To receive the most accurate matches, make sure your profile is as complete as possible and that you fill out your address correctly. After completion, click the Scholarships tab on the top of the screen. Here you will find a list of scholarships the “My Scholarship Matches” tab.
I’m an international student. Am I eligible for any scholarships?
If you’re an international student with a non-U.S. address in your Cappex profile (you must select a country in the dropdown box other than United States), unfortunately, you are not eligible for any of the scholarships that Cappex currently offers. The good news is that once you fill out your address correctly, you will be eligible for any scholarships for international students that we might offer in the future. Your Cappex profile also gives you access to our database of literally thousands of scholarships. To review your scholarship matches, log in to your Cappex account and click the Scholarships tab at the top of your screen. Here you will find a list of scholarships in the “My Scholarship Matches” tab. To see scholarships that are specifically for international students, click on the Get More Matches Now button at the bottom of the page, which will take you to the Expand Scholarship Search page. In the box under the question, “Do any of these other qualifications apply to you or a family member?” locate and check the option for Non-US Citizen/International Student.

How does Cappex match me with scholarships?
Cappex has unique capabilities in place that enable us to target each scholarship appropriately. First, our editors work to make sure each scholarship is targeted to the best of our ability, then we use the information you have listed in your Cappex profile to match you with the scholarships that you are more likely to qualify for. For example, if you have indicated in your profile that you have a 2.8 GPA, you will not be matched with a scholarship that requires a 3.0 GPA. That’s one of the reasons why it’s important to make sure that your profile is as complete and accurate as possible!
Why is there is a scholarship in my Best Bets list that I do not qualify for?
We have many targeting capabilities, but sometimes the requirements for a scholarship are such that we cannot possibly target it correctly. For example, the Tall Clubs International Scholarship requires applicants to be taller than a certain height. In those cases, we target the scholarship to the best of our ability. This results in the occasional scholarship being matched with students who aren’t eligible. When you come across a scholarship in the “My Scholarship Matches” tab that you do not qualify for, mark it as “Doesn’t Fit” in the Status column on the far right, and the scholarship will be removed from your list.
What is My Scholarship List, and where can I find it?
The “My Scholarship List” tab is located right next to the “My Scholarship Matches” tab along the top of the Scholarships page. The Scholarship List contains all the scholarships for which you have given a status in the Best Bets list using the Status column on the far right. In this way you can organize your scholarship matches and keep track of scholarships you want to apply for, have applied for, don’t want to apply for, and more.
How do you determine the competition and application effort ratings for scholarships, and what do they mean?
For the competition rankings, our editors have no way of knowing exactly how many students will be applying for each scholarship, so they use what they know about each scholarship and the potential applicant pool to make an educated guess. The ratings are indicated with a person icon in your Best Bets list and on the Scholarship Details Pages. The ratings range from 1 to 5: A rating of 1 is given to scholarships for which very few students are eligible; a rating of 5 is given to scholarships for which very many students are eligible.
For the application effort ratings, our editors review the application and the work required to apply, then they make an educated guess as to how long it will take. The ratings are indicated with a pencil and paper icon in your Best Bets list and on the Scholarship Details Pages. The ratings range from 1 to 5: A rating of 1 is given to scholarships that require very little time and effort to apply; a rating of 5 is given to scholarships that require a substantial amount of time and effort to apply.
I think I found something wrong in one of your scholarship listings. Who do I contact?
The accuracy of the information on our site is of the utmost importance to us. If you’ve discovered something you think is wrong with a scholarship listing – a broken link, an incorrect date, wrong information, or even a simple typo – please let us know! Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a quick explanation of the issue and a link to the web page you’re referring to.
I think I found a scholarship that you do not have listed. Who do I contact?
